Half a million volts

That’s what I work around daily. I have been in the high voltage maintenance and distribution industry for almost 15 years. I am ready for a change. The career I am in pays pretty good and for that I am thankful to God, but this is not the career I chose. This career was assigned to me by the United States Air Force. Through a series of events in life, I had to stay with it. Gotta get paid. I am ready for a change. If you had the chance to change careers, would you? What would be your dream job?

This is a video I shot yesterday at work (another great function of my camera). Nothing spectacular. Opening that switch is a little more impressive. The sound quality doesn’t do the video justice as to how loud that really is. There was a couple of non-electrical types across the road from the substation when we closed in the switch, and they decided real quick that they didn’t want to be where they were anymore and took off running. They were perfectly safe where they were. Pretty funny though.
