I love George Carlin, he was a funny man. Didn’t agree with everything he said, but still funny.

I felt like reposting this one, enjoy.
I use to be one of those people that got wrapped up in politics. I thought that if my candidate didn’t win that nuclear war would ensue as soon as the inauguration ceremony wrapped up. That anarchy would reign over my fine country and that Bill Cli….I mean the candidate that won the Presidency would not be capable of restoring order to the U.S. of A. I knew that we were in the end times as described in my King James Bible. I knew that the opposing candidate was the anti-christ and that I should look to the eastern skies and listen for trumpets. I was making sure my affairs were in order. This was the end of the world as we know it.
I have to admit I was a little disappointed when I didn’t see a mushroom cloud over the capital after the inauguration ceremony, or when a group of militant hippies didn’t rush the President and over take his security detail (I’m sure that this post will probably go into my FBI file because I mentioned nuclear war and the president in the same story) and declare the evil dictatorship of Democracy is no longer and that we are free to go do whatever our sinful nature wanted. All this because my candidate lost. All because we now have a President that lacked the moral fiber and strong christian back ground and values that is ingrained in every politician that I would support. And I am going to support my candidate because the United Bapticostal Universal Cathlo-Methodistic Latter Witness Adventist Scientifaction Church of Jesus and Fox News said I should. I know what is right for my country and I am going to rebuke you and your demon possessed, non-praying, hethen candidate. I am going to pray that God will smote your candidate and rain down fire on his encampment (I think they call them political headquarters now), I wanted God to show them the true meaning of global warming.
Now, fast forward to reality. The reality is that Jesus is in control. I had to let go of whatever political ideas I had and actually pray for guidance (new concept) as to what candidate I should chose to be President. I think that we need to look at the whole picture of what is going to be best for the good ol’ U.S. of A. Would it be good to have a President that has moral fiber and a theological degree but couldn’t lead an army of ants to a picnic? Would it be good to have a President that prays before every meal but doesn’t have a clue as to how many people are homeless and hungry in the streets of every city in the country he is leading? I am not electing the Pope of the United States, I am electing the President of the United States. Pray for God to guide you. Pray for our country. Pray for whoever wins the election. The bible tells us to pray for our leaders. Peace.
